EDDY LIZAR

Eddy Lizar presents his series of paintings of the Trees of the Amazon.   Through his paintings he invites you on a journey of serenity and tranquility, where his simple use of colour, soft lines, and signature airbrushing, brings gently to life scenes from the Amazonian forest.    


Born in Bolivia to Basque father and Japanese mother, Lizar`s mixed heritage is reflected in his art.  His paintings are often compared with traditional Japanese painting, although he has never formally studied this style, nor consciously tried to emulate it.  Perhaps, he says, it is simply in his blood.   Having been involved with art as well as music from an early age, encouraged and guided in music by his father, and inspired by the paintings of his Japanese grandfather, Lizar considers himself a gypsy, of no one particular nationality, and an artist of no particular medium.  He works and experiments with various styles, painting in both water and oil, and working in areas such as body painting, performance art, ceramics, and various forms of design.   Lizar says that art is an integral part of his being, and that when painting, he feels “…the hands of his ancestors guiding his own.”    

Lizar`s Trees of the Amazon series is on show here for an extended time, and paintings are available for purchase.  He recommends that they are “…hung on walls with simple colour, and in soft lighting”, and hopes that owners of a Lizar enjoy their mystery and serenity, and that they bring peace and tranquility to the homes they are taken into.
